12 Porn Stars Who Moved On And Led Normal Lives

‘After Porn Ends’, a documentary on former porn stars, showed that even though it seems very hard to move on after having had sex on camera, it is not entirely impossible. Here are some porn stars that moved on from porn.

1. Asia Carrera

This half-Asian rose to fame as a porn star, becoming a porn industry A-lister and featuring in 389 videos. She had left a full academic scholarship behind to become a porn star and reportedly learned the technicians’ jobs as well while on the sets. Asia, who is a Mensa member, walked away from the business and is now settled in Utah. She created controversy in November 2014 after posing with a colander for her Driver’s License photo as a way of declaring herself an atheist.

2. Raylene

Raylene, who is a AVN Hall of Fame inductee, was an honors student who graduated from school 2 years earlier than other students. She wished to be a teacher but her Uncle, a producer, got her jobs in shows like ’21 Jump Street’ and ‘Hunter’. At 19, Raylene made “dirtiest of the dirtiest” porn videos and then signed an exclusive contract with Vivid Entertainment. Raylene quit porn 3 times – once to become a real estate agent, then to dance and finally again in January 2014.

3. Tyffany Million

This former porn star had earned herself the reputation of being the “dirty girl” of the porn industry. Million, who has always been proud of her acting abilities, was featured in 129 videos. The woman who called herself “the biggest damn faker you’ve ever met” left porn when she met her Mr Right. She is now a mother of two, living a happily married life. On the career front, Tyffany has become a licensed private investigator and a bounty hunter.

4. Randy West

Randy’s start in the porn business was innocent enough – he used to work as a nude model for art classes before he graduated to porn. Despite claiming to have been with over 3000 women so far, West claims that he is looking for the right woman to settle down and have children with. He retired from porn and now competes in celebrity golf tournaments for charity.

5. John Leslie

Leslie was a prolific porn actor, director and producer during the Golden Age of porn. At one time he was considered the top male performer of the porn industry. Over the span of 20 years, he shot more than 500 videos. He was included in the Hall of Fame of AVN, XRCO and Legends of Erotica. After his retirement from porn, John Leslie turned to painting, a passion he had pursued as a college student. He died in December 2010 after a heart attack.

6. Amber Lynn

Amber Lynn started bikini modeling, then moved on to Playboy and finally entered the adult film industry after her brother Buck Adams became a porn actor. She was, at one time, the highest paid female performer on the strip club circuit, earning $32,000 per week. Lynn also became addicted to drugs but has been sober since 2000. She tried real estate and sobriety counseling after she quit porn but now works for LA Talk Radio in a show called ‘Rock-N-SeXXXY Uncensored’.

7. Mary Carey

Mary Carey became one of the famous faces of porn after she sent in raunchy polaroids to Playboy magazine. She reportedly earned $300,000 dollars a month as a porn star. She retired from porn in 2008 though she continues to appear in softcore films. Twice she ran for the office of Governor of California. Mary Carey also has a history of drug abuse and has been featured in shows like Celebrity Rehab and Sober House. She can now be heard on ‘Politically Naughty with Mary Carey’ on TradioV.

8. Richard Pacheco

This former porn star was once named Playgirl’s ‘Man of the Year’ and worked as a pornographic film actor, writer and director. He also won numerous adult film awards. After Pacheco decided not to act in films without condoms in the mid-80s, offers dried up and he took a voluntary retirement from porn. Now he writes and speaks about pornography and AIDS. He also published an autobiography ‘Hindsight; True Love and Mischief in the Golden Age of Porn’.

9. Crissy Moran

Moran has appeared in only 50 pornographic videos, which is quite a low count, but has gained considerable cult status. In 2006, Moran met a friend of her then boyfriend who preached the Gospel to her; since then, Moran has become a devout Christian. She was helped by the Christian community to land on her feet after she quit and now works for a nonprofit firm called ‘Treasures’, which provides support to women in the porn industry.

10. Shelley Lubben

Lubben, who was sexually abused as a child, started to work as a prostitute when she was 18. At 24, she joined the porn industry under the name ‘Roxy’, where she contracted herpes and HPV that led to cervical cancer. Her career lasted one year and resulted in 15 hardcore movies. She later found religion and is now an ordained chaplain. Lubben runs the Pink Cross Foundation, which talks about how physically harmful the porn industry is and helps male and female sex workers.

11. Seka

Seka was a pornographic actress during the Golden Age of porn. She quit porn in the mid-80s due to the AIDS scare that had been plaguing the industry. Seka worked as an adult store owner before drifting into porn. During her career, she appeared on SNL and dated movie stars. Now Seka works on her garden and likes cooking and crafting, while earning money from her website.

12. Houston

Houston has to her credit the biggest gangbang to date, during which she had sex with 620 men without interruption on February 6, 1999. She became a high earning member of the porn world and even sold her labia (which had been removed during a surgery) for $50,000. Houston tried to quit porn for the real estate business but she was so famous that people kept recognizing her. This cancer survivor graduated from nursing school but reportedly returned to porn in 2012.
